Purpose, Mission, Vision
Purpose Statement
Our purpose driven ministry through the leadership of the Holy Spirit and His ability is to seek and to save that which is lost (lost in sin or lost in service) and to raise them in discipleship into a connected healed, empowered, purposeful life in Christ.
Mission Statement
The Mission of Church at the Well, Indianapolis, is: that “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me (us) because He hath anointed me (us) to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me (us) to heal the broken hearted, to preach recovery of sight to the blind, to open the prison doors to those who are bound, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18)
Vision Statement
“He gave some apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and evangelists for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, until we come into the unity of the faith and unto the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. That we henceforth be no more children tossed to by every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive, but speaking the truth in love may grow up unto Him in all things, from
whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
(Ephesians 4: 11 -16)
To accomplish this we seek to connect people who are saved with the Head of the body making sure they are connected to Him and not just with an entity, or group or man, or system. This church is not about “building a church” so we can have another organization, but it is about building people in Christ. It is not about having a ministry it is about ministering to and serving His people.
Proverbs 28:19 says that “without a vision the people perish.” Anything that God calls us to do must have a vision. It must have a plan and a purpose behind that plan. God is not a time waster nor is He a God with a limited vision and purpose. His heart is and always has been for His people. He continues to yearn for those who do not know Him to come to know Him in Salvation.
#1. First and foremost Church at the Well will be a church that reaches out to the unsaved as well as to the unchurched. (John 4) the story of the woman at the well. Also, (Luke 15) The story of the Shepard who left the 99 and went to find that one.
#2. Secondly, Church at the Well will be a place to raise up Spirit-filled Christians in the Anointing and in the faith to be what God has called them to be. (I Corinthians 12 & Ephesians 4: 1 – 16. ( Exodus 1 – 14) God brought them out to bring them in.
