Pastor Kent Grimes

Our Senior Pastor

Called into ministry shortly after his conversion in 1974 Pastor Kent has studied and served under a cross section of anointed ministers. He has earned his Associates of Business Science Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biblical Studies.

Pastor Kent has over 30 years of ministry experience and he has functioned as a Bible Teacher, Evangelist, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor, as well as counselor, marriage counselor, mentor, and author. To date he has written and published one book titled “Power Principles” which is a foundational study on the Hebrews Six doctrines of Christ. This “foundational” study course is especially good for use in new member’s classes and for pastors to give to new believers. “Power Principles,” serves to give one’s life “power” and victory too stand in times of life’s spiritual storms. It should also be read and studied by those who have been walking with the Lord in their lives but who have not had this foundational understanding of the scriptures.

Pastor Kent also has experience in church planting, church rebuilding, conference speaking and many years in serving others in leadership ministry.

Pastor was married to Kelly for 24 years until she went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2000. They have five beautiful children, Hannah, Abigail, Kelly, John David, and Solomon. They also have 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Lilly, Grace, and Aston Kay, Tevin, and Jordan.

In addition to ministry and family, Pastor Kent enjoys reading, writing, walking, and swimming and playing with his new addition which is an American bull dog named “Peyton.” His favorite NFL football team is definitely the Indianapolis Colts and baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals.

Excerpts of Pastor Kent’s Testimony

“I was messed up, messed with, and messed over. I needed a Savior from my sins, deliverance from the devil, and eternal life rather than hell fire which is what I deserved. Born in 1952 in a typical American home for those days, I reached my teenage years during the turbulent times of the late 60’s. Much to the dismay of my mother and father, and other family members I got involved heavily with drinking, drugs, and a debauched lifestyle that led me further down a road of destruction. By the time I was 21 years old I felt like I was 80 because of the abuse of my body but especially my mind and psyche. Spiritually I had no input from the Bible and did not know about Jesus. I was seeking answers and meaning to life through the music of the day and the “poets” who wrote the lyrics. One day a dear friend from my “rock and roll days” as a lead singer in a band came to me and from the Bible he preached Jesus to me. I received that message into my heart by faith, repented from my sins and asked God to forgive me. I have never looked back with longing for that old lifestyle only with heartfelt desire that old friends I knew back then would come to know Jesus too.”

To Receive Jesus Into Your Life

Simply tell Him in prayer that you have messed up, tell Him you are sorry for your sins and you want to turn from them. Then ask Him to forgive you and to come into your heart for all eternity and to give you eternal life. He will. Becoming a Christian is not about becoming religious but it’s about entering into a personal relationship with the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He will then help you everyday in every way if you will ask and trust Him. It is also important to find an on fire Christian friend and local Bible believing church to help you grow in your new relationship with Jesus. It is my earnest prayer that you will do this and enjoy the full joy, peace and rest for your soul that only Jesus Christ can give. I love Him today and praise Him with all my heart!

If you just accepted Jesus as your savior, we cheer you on in your personal decision to begin a relationship with Christ, starting right now, at this very moment. It would mean so much to me, and our church family, if you would tell us about your salvation experience. Click here to share your story. Thank you and God bless you!
